IC:Character name: Feferi Peixes
Fandom: Homestuck
Timeline: Talking with Sollux in the pile of horns.
Age: 6 sweeps, or roughly 13 in Earth years.
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: Feferi is a sea-troll princess from outer space, which, no, is not a challenge of how many descriptions I could plot on top of princess and still make the whole thing make sense. Anyways, all those qualifier means a lot of things! As a sea-dweller, Feferi is acclimated to living under the sea, but is also capable of living on the land as well. She can breathe underwater, swim really quick and is capable of pulling large whales like a nuclear-powered submarine. She's spent sweeps (years) doing this to feed the insatiable appetite of Gl'bgolyb, her lusus -- that's guardian to you and me. Also, as a troll, her natural strengths and resistances are tied to her blood color -- warm-color trolls tend to have more proficiency at psychic abilities and shorter lifespans than cold-color trolls, who tend to be more psychically resistant and physically durable. As Feferi is the highest tier on this caste system of blood color, she has no psychic ability, but is virtually immune to it, has an exceptionally long lifespan, and is one of the physically strongest trolls in the series. This is evidenced by her whale-towing and being able to jump out of water several thousand feet into the air.
In addition to her natural abilities, Feferi has her title as "The Witch of Life." We only see her ability at this once, but it was an immensely important skill for the good everybody. With the support of the horrorterrors beyond the furthest ring, Feferi was able to encapsulate her magic within dream bubbles--psychic spheres of energy. Feferi breathed life into these bubbles, allowing her deceased friends a place to exist within them and providing the opportunity to relive and share their memories and experiences. Could she do this again at a smaller level and unassisted? We're not sure!!
How would they use their abilities?: Feferi is mostly free spirited and kindhearted. Even though her race is comprised of intergalactic space invaders, Fef would never use her abilities in unkind or selfish ways. She is a natural sea-dweller and has a propensity for water. She'd prefer living there if possible, but would otherwise as happy as a clam in it's shell.
Appearance: Trolls share a lot of similarities with humans, and for the most part looks exactly like a thirteen year-old-girl: bipedal, have two arms legs and a head on top. By troll and humans standards, she'd be a bit cute, with soft features and long black hair. Trolls are a bit different than humans: Fef's skin is a dark gray color, her eyes have gray pupils with yellow sclera, fin-like ears and gills, teeth that are sharp and shark-like, and possesses curved horns on her head that look a lot like candy corn--dark orange on the base, a lighter orange in the middle, with yellow on the tips.
While trolls are not really known for their fashion sense, Feferi is a bit of an exception to the rule. She wears the customary black t-shirt emblazoned by her royal sign of governance (the Pisces symbol), but she also wears a bright pea-green and sky-blue skirt. Finally, she has a couple of head accessories: her tiara, which has a purple-red colored gemstone with the Pisces symbol, and a pair of goggles that don't really do anything but she likes them so whatever.

Background: Homestuck is a really long and complicated story where kids get transported into the game on humanity's final day on Earth and how they work together to attempt to create an entirely new universe.
But that's not important right now.
Before the events of the kids (and during through time shennanigans that I would get into later), on a world far removed from the planet Earth or even it's universe. The planet was Alternia and it was the home of the intergalactic space invaders called the Trolls. It was a brutish planet, with terrifying fauna only rivaled by the terrifying people. Though sharing a lot of similarities with humans (with movie theaters, video games and orange creamsickles), the trolls themselves were born, grew and lived knowing that one day they would take part of the intergalactic subjugation of inferior species: everybody else.
Troll society was highly structured and orderly, following a strict blood-based caste system. Following the same color-spectrum of the rainbow (red orange yellow green blue violet), the trolls were born into their respective ranks. The hotter colors (red, orange, yellow), called lowbloods, were regarded as inferior to the cooler colors (green, blue, violet), called highbloods. Thus, the lowbloods were expected to be the grunts and fighters, while the higher castes were often appointed leadership roles. Even within the higher-tiers, there were a select few that had special rights and privileges and who dwelled in in the ocean -- the Sea Dwellers. And even within those range of bloods, there was one blood color that only occurred once ever few centuries: the highest tier attainable and put in a position of ruling over all trolls throughout the entire galaxy: tyrian purple, Feferi's blood color.
Now being Feferi's blood color wasn't about imperial courts, or learning to be a courteous at dinner, or even being trained in the arts of war! The previous Emperess was a thousand-sweeps-old (over two-thousand years) empress, Her Imperious Condescension (The Condesce), who traveled from planet to planet acting as a foreign dignitary before signaling to her invasion fleet towards the now-doomed planet. She ensured absolute loyalty and rule through her royal guardian, an ancient ambassador of the Horroterrors named Gl'bgolyb. While normally benign, the psychic connection The Condesce shared with it allowed her to use this guardian as an method of coercion. Was there ever an uprising (and there were several), she would call upon Gl'bgolyb to let out a psychic scream in her targeted location -- killing everybody unfortunate enough to be there at the time. The only real challenges where those few born with tyrian blood, whom Gl'bgolyb forced the Condesce to fight for leadership. All such challengers met quick ends at the hands of the Condesce, and Feferi was to be no exception.
However, Feferi didn't have to worry that fate for a couple more sweeps. Instead, she acted as a custodian to Gl'bgolyb (since the Condesce would have killed her outright otherwise). She did this by finding and slaughtering the guardian of other trolls, orphaning them and putting their lives in grave danger if not outright death. As grisly as this work was, she did this willingly for the greater picture: for if Gl'bgolyb were to be left unfed, she would let out a Vast Glub -- a prophecized doomsday event in which Gl'bgolyb let out it's final swan song throughout the entire universe and kill all the trolls within it. She eventually received help from another troll named Eridan, who she formed a special bond with called moirallegiance. In this union Eridan would serve a protective role to Feferi, who would tend to and temper his homicidal tendencies for the good of everyone. This put Feferi in a position where she was forced to preserve the safety of the entire universe with Gl'bgolyb's feeding regime, and keep her "moirail" in check through constant assurance and guidance. She loved the attention, but that was a lot of responsibility for a young troll to handle!!
In the meantime, Feferi talked to a vast wealth of other trolls through the troll chat client called "Trollian," and when she wasn't chatting, feeding Gl'bgolyb or talking Eridan down, she would spend her time tending to her aquatic hoofbeasts or taking care of thousands of injured cuttlefish (which really didn't need it but she was okay with that). But really, Feferi loved taking care of others. She wanted to be sure they were tended and cared for, and loved to know that her guardian foretold that she would be the one to "unite the two races." She often imagined her rule to be kind and benevolent, where they would end the constant intergalactic conquest and begin an age of temperance, kindness and mutual respect. If it wasn't for the fact that her world was about to end, and that the Condesce would rather flay her from a spear than make that vision reality, she might have fulfilled that dream.
As it happened, one of her troll friends on Trollian unearthed and ancient video game from an old ruin. Now, despite the fact that the ruin predated any known historical record of the game, eleven of her friends decided it would be a good idea to play it. So Feferi agreed, thinking it would be fun, and not realizing that this game heralded the end of their planet as a storm of meteors besieged the planets of Alternia, but also marked the beginning of the end for all trolls in the universe. For no sooner did the game start did Karkat, the self-appointed leader of the team Feferi's group was opposing, unleashed a computer hex that fated to kill all of the twelve troll's guardians -- including Gl'bgolyb. As all the trolls were entering into the game's separate universe -- called "The Medium," the meteors landed and the Vast Glub occurred and all the other trolls perished... leaving these twelve trolls as the last survivors.
But not everyone in the group was spared. Sollux, the one who fixed the programming of the game and last member to play was the last person to play, and thus experiencing the effects of the Glub. Realizing the person that saved her from immediate death by meteors was dying, she quickly jumped an astonishingly high distance into the second gate, allowing herself to enter Sollux's world. There she provided him with the kiss of life, allowing Sollux's dream-self to take over and bringing him back to life. There was more stuff that happened, but Andrew Hussie decided to troll everyone and skip to the end. So to the end we go.
In the end the trolls were victorious in defeating the Black King before he could ultimately destroy everyone, providing them access to the ultimate prize: a gateway into the universe they had just created. But right before they were able to, a black demon entered their session and destroyed everything. Fortunately through quick-thinking on one of their friend's part, they were able to be sent to a lab hidden within a massive asteroid belt... ensuring their safety, but also making them directionless and desperate. They knew they could not fight the demon, but they also knew it was only a matter of time before he would sniff them out and kill them all as well.
Lost and not sure what to do, the trolls explored their new surroundings, which apparently had a wealth of food, resources and supplies. Using the searching powers of Trollian, Sollux quickly discovered the source of the demon: a separate universe where four kids were playing the same game they were! In his infinite wisdom, their leader Karkat decided that the trolls should, well, troll them to vent out their frustrations and let the kids know how much they all sucked (no, it didn't make much sense to the trolls either).
Most of the other trolls knew better and did their own thing, but Feferi took it one step further: rather than see the kids as the source of their problem, she saw the kids as the solution to their problems! Looking ahead at their needs, she sacrificed her dreamself to be able to communicate with the Horrorterrors. With their aid, they created a slew of dream bubbles that she infused with her own power to allow the spirits of the dead to dwell within them. This allowed both the trolls and kids a means to communicate with each other in death -- a means through which one of the kids, Jade Harley, used frequently to discover the hidden truths lying behind the constructs of the game.
Her task done, Feferi was content and talking with Sollux about the events that were happening. His best friend suddenly exploded and died, and Feferi was feeling exhausted from all her work while she slept. They were chatting and having a good time when Eridan came out of the teleporter. He told them that he knew that all hope was lost and that the only chance they had was to join the demon and pray that he had mercy. Feferi and Sollux thought this was a horrible idea, and worse, he put everybody that didn't agree with him at risk of having their location discovered. With no other choice, Sollux engaged Eridan, who was overtaken by Eridan's
science magic wand. Worried that Eridan killed him, Feferi flew into a fit of rage, propelling herself at Eridan... and taking a shot straight through the chest.
With no lives left, Feferi's life faded from her eyes and she saw a light. But instead of appearing in a dream bubble, her next conscious memory brought her on board a space station. A place she had never seen before...
Personality: On first blush, Feferi may seem like a giggling, naive, and flakey girl, that does thing entirely on impulse and cares little of how her actions are affecting her former best friend, Eridan. However, the two things to know about Feferi is that she is a kindhearted soul that genuinely wants to help people and that the other thing she values is her personal freedom. Being one of the few trolls ever born with tyrian blood, she was placed in an incredibly restricted role since the day she hatched. She HAD to feed Gl'bgolyb, she WAS GOING to fight the Condesce, and she was the heiress apparent of a planet of incredibly subjugated people. Though she loved having people relying on her, the extent to which she had expectations piled on her was stifling, and she wanted, above all else, to be free.
She finally had that opportunity in the confines of the game. And no sooner did she make it inside, she decided to cut off her relationship with Eridan. She did this because through all his consistent whining and relentless hatred for inferior races, Feferi realized that the relationship was entirely one-sided: Eridan was just taking and taking from her and was showing no signs of improvement. Through Feferi's tenderness, she had allowed Eridan to rely on her kindness for far too long: She knew that for both of their sakes she needed to let him go. She was also finally free of her duties as the caretaker of Gl'bgolyb, and that feeling was
INCREDIBLE. She was finally able to do things as she wanted, be with who she wanted to be with and live the life she wanted to. And she was going to do it all with a big smile on her face.
Feferi is a troll that is far unlike other trolls in that she is loved others and loved life. She wanted to make sure that everybody was okay, and that they would be able to know just what a blessing this life was. She enjoyed the small things in life: every moment was something to discover with awe and wonder. She found a subtle friendship in Sollux, who saved her from the meteors and she had subsequently saved after the Vast Glub killed him. This friendship kindled into a like of each other, and eventually a full-blown relationship. She's also show her concern for the well-being of everyone and incredible foresight by creating the dream-bubbles, knowing that by doing so she would be giving everyone the greatest chance of survival. Though definitely not one of the trolls that took charge and lead everyone to glory, without her actions everybody would have been in a lot of trouble.
Why should that character be in this game: She's fun!
Why do you want to continue their history here: Because she's fun!
For applicants considering an alternate version of a character already in game, please use this as your chance to explain the key differences between your character and the one already in play: This may be a thing if the Punk Condesce shows up...
Have you read up on how the game works?: Yes! The program is FlammingFerret and the three ways Fef would try to earn money would be missions, bumming and begging. :>

Glub! 38)3rd person sample:"There that's good!" Feferi giggled with a glub as she threw in her recuperacoon into the water. She had been here now for a week, doing odd jobs every now and then to help pay off her medical bill. It was a pretty daunting task to get hit with so soon after appearing on the Thor, and it was still a sore subject for her, but she had gotten past it and made it just another thing she had to do. Still, the way she figured, the most expensive thing was paying for a room. If this idea worked out, she wouldn't have to worry about that and be that much closer to paying it off!
She had slowly been gathering up a few amenities and began piling them into the deep end of the dolphin pool. The dolphins did seem a bit agitated by it, but her spear sort of made them nervous. They mostly decided to leave her out of the picture and hope the security guard would catch her soon. After all, would you be happy with a fish troll princess throwing lawn chairs into your home? She was practically the equivalent to getting a redneck neighbor.
Feferi, however, knew nothing of this. She was just glad to finally be in the water again and was one step from taking a dive when a guard approached her.
Apparently they were wondering who was throwing all the junk into the pool and thought it was a vandal. Wanted pictures were distributed throughout the Thor, asking for more information on who was doing it. Now the guard saw Feferi throw yet another thing and knew they had their culprit. Confused and bewildered, Feferi just stared at the guard as she came towards her, handcuffs ready.
This wasn't exactly what she had in mind!!
